Laura is a business development dynamo whose passion, focus and positive energy helps clients achieve their growth initiatives. Laura is founder and President of CAP Resources, and brings 25 years’ experience in managing aggressive growth strategies for emerging companies and new product lines. Focus areas include strategic business development, market research and characterization, transaction modeling, transaction support services and due diligence, new business line development, technology commercialization and technology portfolio management. Prior to founding CAP Resources Laura oversaw Business Development in the San Francisco/Bay Area for Advanced Micro Devices, was an early employee and subsequently ran North American Sales for Landmark Graphics (now a Halliburton company) and held management roles at four VC-backed energy and emerging technology companies, assisting with the exit of each company. Laura holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, has 23 years’ experience in oil and gas technology markets, alternative energies, and materials science and 14 years’ experience in life sciences and bioinformatics. She is a frequent speaker / guest lecturer at investment and innovation conferences and entrepreneurial focused institutions (Rice, A&M, University of Houston, MIT Enterprise Forum, and Houston Technology Center) and has served as a Director for many client companies, regional banks, and Houston non-profits. Stuart Maudlin is a Principal Strategist with CAP Resources with a wicked eye for detail and thirty years of business experience, focusing on transactation support, M&A and Due Diligence. Stuart has over 30 years’ experience in accounting system design, comprehensive strategic management and consulting services. He is the former President and CEO of three high-tech startups, CEO of SABRE Energy Network (a JV with Columbia Energy), and CFO of Mad Croc Brands. Prior to these roles, he was a Director at Dynegy, VP of Software Development for PetroComp Systems and VP of Marketing for Computyme. A former energy consultant with McKinsey & Company, Peter is a seasoned business builder with deep experience in strategy, commercial development, negotiations and financial evaluations. He has provided business leadership on initiatives ranging from multi-billion dollar LNG and gas monetization projects to alternative energy new ventures. Most recently Peter served as the Head of Business development for Agennix, a biopharmaceutical company developing novel, protein-based cancer therapeutics.
